lyrics

She puts her sunglasses on to hide those crying eyes as she's driven home at the end of the night. You can be damn certain that she can't call the curtain without a fight. She'll never get it right. I follow her in the streets as the Santa Ana winds came in a swept us off of our feet, with a stitched up smile you can rip at the seams, to dig for the lies I've been dying to speak. Things will always be the same, girls give themselves away for fame. The boys who are honest that would never break a promise, are always left out of the game. The boys will sing their sad, sad songs to an empty room who won't sing along. It doesn't matter who was right or wrong. Dani knows I hate to cause her makeup to run from the careless mistakes of my midwestern tongue. My first sin was this young Los Angeles girl, who's been faking love and faking a smile. Since then I've started having these dreams of guitars, and old cars, and you in the passenger seat; like I'm falling in love like it was written by Springsteen.
