lyrics

Everything has been downhill since our senior year. My hometown is filled with the broken hopes of the lonely drunks who've got nothing to keep warm when the winters become too much. It's a shame to say it, but I thought we'd run that town till we died. These days, I'm never really certain if we failed or not, but damnit man, we tried. Ben's cooking hash in his kitchen these days. He's still living in the small town where we both grew up, got drunk, and passed out in the parking lot of Wal-Mart. It happened every weekend 'cause we had no where else to go. These days, when I take the time and I think about it, my heart was never at home until we made a new home of our own. No one really knows what happened that year. The only thing we know is that we've never been the same, here, in my America. You know we've never been the same, things were always meant to change. You know the kings and the queens that used to run that town are the same kings and queens that still run that town. You know the kings and the queens that used to run that town will be forever stuck there, running that town. And they'll never get out.
